Running the notebook

  1. Run All. If a package is missing, uncomment the %pip install line, run it once and restart the kernel.
  2. The notebook downloads the five datasets into renyi_mrmr_work/data. If a download fails, place semeion.data, BASEHOCK.mat, PCMAC.mat, RELATHE.mat and gisette.mat there yourself.
  3. Part D (20 splits) takes 30–90 min and saves after every split. Set N_JOBS = 4 with 16 GB of RAM.
  4. Compare with the executed copy; several cells print the value they should produce.
